It is a twin drum winch operated through a gearbox with electric motor as prime mover. Both the drums are free at idle position. When no brake is applied to either drum. there is a provision of break to be applied on brake drum with each drum .
Two separate handles are provided to brake each drum independently, this helps to operate winch for pulling and pushing the scraper without changing the direction of rotation of electric motor. When a brake is applied to scraper pulling drum, the wire rope is wound on one drum and other is in unwinding position . when brake is applied to the other drum the Scraper with ore pulls out from the mining area. With this there is no necessity of a person to go deep in the mine.
These are available in various sizes based on depth of mine, type and quantity of ore and pulling force from 500 kg to 3000 kg.
